Child modeling agencies are often the same as or part of regular modeling agencies. If an agency handles adult models, they probably have a division for child modeling, babies, and possibly a separate division for teens. Always remember that no matter what an agency says, you must get all agreements in writing, and be sure to read the fine print. Be sure that you do not pay a fee upfront when you start service with a modeling agency for your child. A legitimate agency will take their payment after your child has gotten paid for their first modeling job.
It may seem like a strange and alien world when you step into the offices of any modeling agency. Child agency or full service, it may be an unfamiliar environment and you may have a more difficult time adjusting to it than your child. They of course, will be fascinated and love every minute of it, anticipating their first glamorous modeling job, but it's up to you to maintain your composure, ask tough questions, and make sure that your child will be looked out for and well taken care of.
Every aspiring child model deserves the best shot available to them. A good agency can push them in the right direction, so do research and don't sign up with the first people that tell you your child is adorable and is going to get reams of modeling jobs.
